The Youth Empowerment Consortium (YEC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Maame Yaa Achiaa Owusu as the Executive Director of the Centre for Climate Change, Energy Transitions and Sustainability, a specialised unit within the Consortium dedicated to advancing climate action and sustainable development.
In her new role, Maame Yaa Achiaa Owusu will provide strategic leadership for YEC’s climate change, energy transition, and sustainability initiatives, with a focus on promoting environmentally responsible solutions that support youth development and national progress.
With a strong background in business, research, and policy analysis, she brings a results-driven and evidence-based approach to program design and implementation.
Her work integrates economic viability, policy relevance, and measurable environmental impact, particularly in the areas of climate resilience, clean energy systems, and sustainable development planning.
Her professional focus includes advancing sustainable waste management and recycling initiatives aimed at reducing pollution, while fostering effective collaboration with government institutions, development partners, academia, and the private sector.
Through these partnerships, she seeks to deliver impactful solutions aligned with national development priorities and the Youth Employment Agency’s sustainability agenda.
