The Youth Empowerment Consortium (YEC) has announced the appointment of Faustina Kesewa Henaku to its administrative leadership as Executive Director for Special Initiatives and Women-Led Campaigns, a role that underscores the organization’s commitment to inclusive leadership, gender empowerment, and community-driven development.

Faustina Kesewa Henaku is a highly organized and detail-oriented administrative professional with over six years of experience spanning administrative support, customer service, and institutional operations. Her professional journey reflects a strong dedication to structure, service excellence, and impact-driven leadership across both public sector and community-focused institutions.

A graduate of the University of Education, Winneba, Kesewa currently works with the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), where she provides administrative and operational support within port and terminal operations. Her work in this highly regulated environment has strengthened her expertise in documentation management, system checks, compliance processes, and institutional coordination skills that are critical to effective organizational governance and efficiency.

Beyond her public sector experience, Kesewa is the Founder of Kessplex Foundation, a community-focused organization dedicated to empowering children, girls, and women through education, mentorship, and skills development initiatives. Through the foundation, she has led and supported community projects that improve access to learning opportunities, build confidence among young girls, and promote the active participation of women in community development.

Her passion for child and women empowerment has been consistently demonstrated through hands-on engagement and advocacy. This commitment was further shaped by her experience as a facilitator at Tema Royal Kids Court in Accra, where she combined administrative responsibilities with child-centered support, contributing to nurturing environments that encouraged learning, discipline, and personal development.

In her new role at YEC, Faustina Kesewa Henaku provides strategic direction and coordination for programmes focused on women’s leadership, inclusion, and youth-centred advocacy. She supports the design and implementation of special initiatives and women-led campaigns that align with YEC’s mission of developing responsible, capable, and impact-driven young leaders.

Her appointment is expected to strengthen YEC’s institutional outreach, advance gender-responsive programming, and amplify the voices and leadership of young women within the organisation’s growing empowerment ecosystem.

The appointment takes immediate effect.
